a.c.

the week in atlantic city did not disappoint. first thing i did when we got there was put my feet in the ocean. duh.

the shows were great. the crowds were amazing. its always fun to perform in a different theater on a new stage.
changes things up a bit;)

i did not hold back on the room service. sometimes hotel living has its perks. obviously i have been watching the olympics nonstop. go usa.

i loved starting my day off with a beach run...i don't even like running anymore because my body always hurts, but how could i not when the beach is my backyard. saturday was my crazy day. i got up early for a 5mile run, did our matinee show, ran 3 more miles to some tennis courts with the drummer of my show, destroyed him in a friendly game of tennis (not...he's really good;)), walked back, and did our night show. my legs were beat. but oh so worth it.

sunday morning i tried to find a church, but it ended up being only spanish speaking, so i took church out to the bay on a paddle board with karl (another dancer in the show). we rented paddle boards from some guy that drove us in his broken down bronco to this cool bay. i guess we really trusted him because we left our bags, money, and phones with him and told tom (thats his name) to pick us back up by 1130 so we could make it to our matinee show. paddling around the bay was beautiful! (too bad i didn't bring my camera....i don't think iPhones and paddle boards go too well together though) we got back to dock at 1130...no tom insight. after 20 minutes we were getting a little worried...not too much though cuz we had 2 of tom's very awesome boards. tom was just a free spirit and not too articulate on time. he finally came and got us. we made tom drop us off at our hotel and made it just in time for our last show. few.

a.c. was nice but i am ready to get back to these two. i've missed them. bad. thank goodness for technology. seriously though. what did we ever do without facetime? ha.

think.

i don't even know where this post is going right now, but i am on my computer this rainy sunday afternoon (hallelujah for the rain) and just started typing.

i have been reading, listening, and researching a lot lately. about lots of different things. life is so interesting. i have been reading the book, you can heal your life and i am learning more and more of the effect your thoughts have over you, your body, and others. the world can be so negative. people can be so negative, and if you're not careful, you can find yourself right there with them. negativity is intoxicating. it all starts with your thoughts. "we" are the only thinkers in our mind. we create our experiences, our reality, and everyone in it. when we create peace and balance in our mind, we will find it in our lives. i quote the wise deepak chopra when i say, don't let the body be the battle ground for the wars you wage in your mind.
i love this.
so true.
i can go on and on and on and on, but i will spare you of my babbling for now;)
here's to trying to find the light and positivity in the everyday things. negativity is a waste of time.
lets all be happy.
its more fun:)
speaking of fun.....here are a few pics of  our "bond fire" when we were in utah a few weeks ago.

we love "bonding"with our family.
the kids versions of scary stories around the campfire=priceless

colorado river

sometimes the only way to survive these desert summers is to jump in some freezing cold river water.
we drove out to the colorado river to Willow beach. last time the husband and i came out to this beach was here.

we immediately pumped up our cheap walmart raft and paddled the afternoon away. we were surprised when mowgli jumped right in the boat. he loves river rafting.
we found some fun rock jumping cliffs and immersed ourselves in the cold water.

the only way to survive i tell ya.

we play dirty

wait......i can't forget to tell you about one of the highlights while in utah.
The Dirty Dash.

we like it dirty.
our team rocked.

before and after.
this was our first race together as husband and wife.
it was 5.7 miles of disgusting mud and lots of crazy obstacles.

miraculously we made it to the finish line.
(we haven't ran for probably more than a year. sad.) i was pretty proud of us.

the kids even got in on it. they got to run the mile piglet plunge.
these pics were taken before they even started.
they obviously didnt mind the mud.

we had a blast! one of the funnest things i've done in awhile:) chalked that one in the memory book.
until next time dirty dash. until next time.

june bloom.

goodbye may...hello middle of june. what the?
we got to be in utah for two whole weeks. we spent all of our spare time in the mountains. i can't seem to get enough of them when we are there. mowgli was in heaven.

we got to make more memories with the people that mean the most. i love my fam.

we bonded over a bonfire and told scary stories with yummy s'mores. the kids loved it. their version of scary stories are my favorite;)

the husband and i went to a couple of concerts with my favorite adventure buddy/partner in crime.

and....we spent the day up by starvation reservoir on her family's property. so pretty.

mowlgi had his first official swimming lesson. the husband just threw him in.
he wasn't too happy about it. he's still afraid of the deep end. poor guy. he'll get it someday.

we ended our trip with some boating at deer creek.
it was the perfect way to kick off our summer.
i love summer. i love summer in utah.
we'll be back soon.
